Welcome!
My name is Alex and I am a clinical nurse specialist who specialises in child, adolescent and young adults’ mental health conditions (0-25 years).
I qualified in 2013 as a mental health nurse at the University of Surrey and joined the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) register, whereby I obtained my licence to practice psychiatric nursing.
I have extensive experience as a mental health nurse and have worked across NHS and private services for children and adults with complex, often severe, mental health disorders. I am also an expert witness in psychiatric nursing and so my clients can be assured that I practice to a high standard. My work has been unique, in that I have often been able to connect with individuals who are often in the darkest of places and I can walk beside them so that they do not have to do it alone. My career has equipped me with a diverse range of psychotherapeutic techniques, listening skills, patience, deep empathy and understanding. I truly believe that no individual is "beyond help", as I have witnessed the most miraculous recoveries across my career span so far.
My primary focus is in the early identification of mental health disorders and being a mental health nurse means that I am uniquely placed to identify symptoms. I am truly passionate about therapy supporting children and young adults to harness their inner resources, nurture resilience and equip themselves with the necessary skills to navigate the ups and downs of life.
I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully meeting you!
Alex
